Why Home Sessions Are So Special?
Home sessions aren’t about perfection—they’re about connection. They capture your children exactly as they are, in the place they feel safest, happiest, and most themselves. And years from now, it won’t be the perfectly folded laundry or spotless kitchen you’ll care about—it’ll be the way your toddler padded across the living room in their favourite pyjamas, or how they curled up next to you at bedtime.
These are the moments that make up your story.
Your Home Doesn’t Need to Be “Photo Ready”
Let’s get this out of the way: your house does not need to be spotless!
I know how easy it is to worry about clutter or whether your home looks “good enough,” but I promise you—it already is. I shoot primarily on a 50mm lens, which means I’m focusing in on you and your connection, not wide-angle views or super sharp background details. The emphasis is always on emotion, light, and storytelling—not whether there are toys on the floor (honestly, I expect there to be).
A quick tidy of the areas we’ll use is more than enough—but even then, real life is always welcome.
We Plan It Together
Before your session, we’ll have a discovery call where we can chat through ideas and create a plan that feels natural for your family. Nothing forced, nothing overly posed—just activities that reflect your everyday life.
That might look like:
- Playing in the garden
- Baking cookies together
- Doing crafts at the kitchen table
- Splashy, giggly bath time
- Calm, cosy bedtime routines
- A quiet Saturday morning reading & having tea
- Or a mix of all of the above
The goal is to document your life as it is—not to turn it into something it’s not.
You’re Not Doing This Alone
You’ll also receive a prep guide from me, designed to take the stress out of getting ready. It covers everything from what to wear to how to prepare your space (in a realistic, achievable way), so you can go into your session feeling calm and confident.
These Are the Days You’ll Want to Remember
Right now, you might be in the thick of it—juggling routines, running on little sleep, and wondering if you’re doing enough. It can feel overwhelming. I see you, because I’m right there too (triplet toddlers over here—so yes, I truly get it).
But one day, this season will feel so far away.
The noise, the mess, the tiny hands reaching for you—it will all change.
Home sessions are about holding onto a piece of that. The real bits. The beautiful, ordinary, fleeting moments of childhood and your journey through parenthood.
Not perfect. Just honest.
And that’s what makes them amazing.
